PayDay Superannuation Reporting
PayDay Super is scheduled to commence from 1 July 2026. The bottom line is that employers must actually pay the Super Guarantee liability on the same day that they pay their employees' wages.
For details, see the ATO website here.
Currently most employers report the SG Liability on pay day under the Single Touch Payroll (STP) Reporting obligations, however payment to the Super Fund(s) is not required until 28 days after the end of the quarter. So this change to PayDay Super represents an enormous 'shift' in both payment and reporting of superannuation contributions. It also increases significantly the workload, for esp small employers. Namich's PayDay Super Solution At Namich we specialise in Compliance Reporting solutions. We are a registered Digital Service Provider (DSP) with the ATO and comply with their Operational Security Framework. One of our most popular solutions is STP Creator, designed for Single Touch Payroll (STP) Reporting. To support our existing clients, and reduce the burden of Pay Day Super for others, we have partnered with a commercial clearing house to add a Super module to STP Creator. The module provides an integrated data and payment clearing solution. After lodging an STP report directly with the ATO, with the click of a few buttons, employers can complete both the reporting of contributions and the payment to all Super Funds within a few minutes. In our example, contributions for 26 payees reported and paid to 8 different super funds in less than 2 mins! Watch Not a STP Creator User? The Super Module also runs as a separate function, and so anyone can use our PayDay Super solution, even if you have your own STP solution. Contribution data can be extracted from a linked MYOB file, or loaded from a spreadsheet. Super Module Fees For a fully integrated and automated process, an account is required with the Ozedi Clearing House. Modest fees are payable for sending Contribution Data and for processing payments. Using Ozedi for payment processing is optional. You can handle the payments yourself via bank transfer and avoid the fees. To avoid all fees you can upload the generated SAFF file to your own clearing house or Super Fund - check the format complies with their requirements. Namich does not charge extra for use of the Super module in STP Creator. |
