ODBC


On the Permanent Data Set screen, if your MYOB® company file is registered for ODBC (this is something you do through MYOB Australia), the highlighted ODBC Reg box will show Yes as it does in the image below.




If you tick the Use ODBC check box, this will bring up this screen:




Fields


ODBC Driver

Select the relevant ODBC Driver from the drop down list. Available choices are:


MYOAU1001 - use this for MYOB v19

MYOAU0901 - use this for MYOB v18.5 (Prem v12.5 Ent v6.5)

MYOAU0801 - use this for MYOB v18.0 (Prem v12.0 Ent v6.0)

MYOB_ODBC - use this for any earlier supported versions



The MYOB ODBC driver must be installed on your system = follow MYOB documentation that came with your installer or see this link.



Network Protocol

Select relevant protocol from drop down list. Available choices are:


NONET

NETBIOS

TCPIP


You may need to check this with your IT Staff.



MYOB® User ID

Enter the name of the MYOB User ID - this is not limited to Administrator or STP_NAMICH however the user must have full Card and Payroll privileges. This can be tested using Test Connection and Test ODBC Load.



Password

Enter the password for this MYOB® User ID.



ODBC Code

A unique code for this company file available for purchase from Namich. Enter the Code you were provided.



Other

Not used.



Buttons


Test Connection

Click this button to check the above settings and see if an ODBC connection can be established. An ODBC Code is not required to test a connection. You will see this messages if the Test was Successful:





If instead you see this message:



This indicates there is a problem with one or more settings. We recommend you use MYOB's Test Connection.exe available in the installed ODBC Driver folder under bin/iwinnt.


If all the settings are correct and you are unable to establish a connection, try using a mapped network path to the company file, so instead of:



map a network drive to the same location such as follows:





Test ODBC Load

Click this button to perform a test load of Payroll data via ODBC. Upon completion (and there will be a pause before the final step) you will see a screen similar to this:



Loading Payroll Data from this 1.3GB data file via the standard direct read method took over 14 minutes.


When using the Test Load function, the loaded data is discarded and will not override your actual data.
