More Payroll Categories in this MYOB® file than currently in this Data Set file

Basic Principles

When you load data from a linked MYOB® company file, you may see this message:

The number of Payroll Categories in your MYOB® and the number in the Data Set file must match. These are not automatically updated.

If you have added one or more Payroll Categories in your MYOB® file since you last used this Data Set file, before proceeding, from the Permanent Data Set screen select  '3. Map Payroll Categories'.

Then click 'Update from Company File' - STP Creator will update the Payroll Category Table by adding the new Payroll Category. The new Payroll Category should also be mapped to a STP Field and for BAS - W1 W2 purposes.

Deleted Payroll Categories

This message can also occur if you have deleted Payroll Categories from your Data Set file. You CANNOT delete payroll categories from the Data Set file. If the payroll category is in your MYOB® file, it MUST also be in the Data Set file. Even if you no longer use these Payroll Categories, they must not be deleted. If you did delete Payroll Categories, from the Permanent Data Set screen select  '3. Map Payroll Categories'.

Then click 'Update from Company File' - STP Creator will update the Payroll Category Table adding the Payroll Categories back into the Data Set file.

Click Ok to close the Payroll Category Mapping screen.

Next tick the relevant Cat ID's and then click Delete. You will see an alert as per image below.

Click Yes.

Click Ok to close the Payroll Category Mapping screen and update the Data Set file.
